The European Accessibility Act came into force on 28 June 2025. It requires websites, apps and other digital services offered in the EU to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities.
The technical benchmark is a European standard called EN 301 549. Today that standard follows WCAG 2.1 Level AA. It is being updated to bring in the newer WCAG 2.2, so we build your site to 2.2 now. That meets the rules today and keeps you ahead of the change. In Ireland the same standard sits behind EN 301 549.
